Title:Exposure to breastmilk in infancy and the risk of breast cancer

Abstract:The study group included 528 women having a newly diagnosed breast cancer. The control group included 602 women randomly selected from the same community and matched for age. Having been breastfed was associated with a decreased risk (odds ratio 0.74. 95% confidence interval 0.56-0.99). There was little difference in the association for pre- and postmenopausal women.
