Abstract:This is a review article trying to interpret the fact that the birth of schizophrenic patients tend to occur more often than expected during the first three or four months of the year. Referring to Swedish data the authors emphasise that in the older maternal age groups, births are relatively more frequent in the early months of the year. The authors suggest that maternal age might be a confounding factor.
