Abstract:Study of 4269 consecutive live male births in the same Copenhagen hospital. Measures of birth complications, early maternal rejection and violent crime (age 18) were collected. The main risk factor found in this study for being a violent criminal at age 18 is the association of birth complications together with early maternal rejection. Early maternal rejection by itself is not a risk factor.
